Who we are

Project Becoming is a South African business. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@projectbecoming.co.za.

Information we collect

When you join the Project Becoming email list, we collect your first name, email address and consent record. When you place an order, Shopify and relevant payment, courier and service providers process information needed for checkout and fulfilment, such as your name, contact details, delivery address, order details and payment status. We may also receive messages you send us and limited technical information used to operate and secure the website.

Why we use it

We use personal information only for clear purposes: to provide the website, process and deliver orders, respond to questions, keep appropriate business records, prevent misuse, and send Project Becoming news where you have consented.

Who processes it

Information may be processed by Project Becoming and providers needed to run the website, database, Shopify checkout, payments, email communications and courier delivery. We do not sell personal information. Providers receive only what is reasonably needed for their service and handle it under their own legal and security obligations.

Marketing choices

Joining the email list is optional and separate from buying NOTICING. You can unsubscribe through an email link or contact us. If you unsubscribe, you will still receive emails about any order you have placed.

How long we keep it

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, legal and accounting obligations, and dispute handling. List information is removed or suppressed from marketing when you unsubscribe; we keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list so we don't email you again.

Your POPIA rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or ask for deletion where there is no lawful reason to keep it. You may also raise a concern with South Africa’s Information Regulator.

Keeping information safe

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures and reputable service providers to protect information. No online service can promise absolute security, but we limit access and respond to suspected incidents as required.
