Terms of sale and use
Plain-language terms for buying from and using Project Becoming.
Last updated: 6 October 2026. By placing an order you agree to these terms. We may update them from time to time; the version published when you order applies to that order.
Who we are
Project Becoming is a South African business. Contact us at hello@projectbecoming.co.za.
Ordering and pricing
Products shown as available may be ordered through this website. The price shown at checkout at the time of purchase applies. An order is accepted when payment is confirmed and the order can be fulfilled. We may decline or cancel an order affected by a pricing, availability, payment or delivery error, and will refund anything paid in full.
Payment
Payment and checkout are processed by Shopify and its payment providers. Project Becoming does not receive or store your full card details.
Courier delivery
Delivery is by courier only. Courier cost is calculated at checkout. Available estimates are shown or communicated where possible, but are estimates rather than guarantees. Please provide a complete, accurate delivery address and a reachable contact number. If delivery fails because the supplied details are incorrect or nobody can receive the parcel, contact us so we can agree a practical next step and any actual re-delivery cost before proceeding.
Cancelling before dispatch
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. If we can successfully cancel the order before dispatch, we will issue a full refund to the original payment method. Once dispatched, the terms below apply.
Change of mind
We do not accept returns for change of mind, except where the law requires it. Where the statutory cooling-off right under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, please notify us within seven days of receiving your order. Goods must be returned at your cost, securely packaged and complete, and in resaleable condition where the law allows. Refunds are handled as the law requires.
Damaged, defective or incorrect goods
If an item arrives damaged, is defective, or is not what you ordered, please email us within seven days of delivery with your order details and photographs. This does not limit your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. Where necessary, we may ask for the affected product or components to be returned so the issue can be assessed. Where the law allows, we will choose to repair, replace or refund. Where the law requires us to cover return costs, we will.
Damage after delivery
We are not responsible for damage caused after delivery by misuse, neglect, alteration, failure to follow the supplied guidance, or ordinary wear. This does not affect rights relating to a defect present at delivery.
Using the product safely
NOTICING contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years. Adult supervision is required. It includes materials used for planting, making and close observation. Follow the guidance supplied, consider the child’s age and circumstances, and keep unsuitable small parts away from younger children. Meet living things and natural spaces with care; observe gently and leave habitats as you found them.
Gift notes
You may add an optional short personal note to an order. A gift note does not include or promise gift wrapping or special packaging.
Intellectual property
The Project Becoming name, marks, written material, illustrations, cards, designs and other original content belong to Project Becoming or its licensors. They may not be reproduced, adapted or sold without written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
South African law
These terms are governed by South African law. Nothing here excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory rights under the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
